Animal Friends cares for thousands of homeless pets each year. It is our goal to admit and place as many animals as possible while staying true to our no-kill tradition. In keeping with this tradition, Animal Friends does not euthanize animals in order to create space in our kennels. Because of this, all of our admissions must be scheduled in advance.

We request a $25 surrender fee to help offset the cost of caring for the animal who is being surrendered to our care. This fee supports the cost of food, medical care, behavioral support and other expenses. For mother cats with litters of kittens, we request $25 for the mother and $25 for the litter of kittens.

NOTE: Due to ongoing renovations to our kennels, dog admissions are currently limited. We encourage you to consider our Home-to-Home Adoption program or view our Pet Retention Resources for support at this time.

Pet Retention Resources

At Animal Friends, we have always recognized that the amount of love a family has for their pets is not defined by their income. So, we have identified pet retention programming as one of our core priorities and are more committed than ever to keep pets in their loving homes. Home-to-Home Adoptions

Before surrendering a pet to Animal Friends, we encourage you to consider our Home-to-Home Adoption program. This program was developed to help families who need to make the difficult decision to rehome their beloved pets, but wish to take a more active role in the adoption process.
