Animal Friends’ canines are sick of pet overpopulation and homelessness, and they’re not going to take it lying down anymore! The disgruntled dogs are taking over Animal Friends’ annual Tag Day event, and are staging a mass picket in downtown Pittsburgh on June 5. You’ll find shelter dogs and their obedient volunteer handlers on almost every street corner, brandishing paw-made picket signs as our dogs bark slogans like “Honk for Homes,” “Homelessness Bites,” “Working Like Dogs No More” and “Bring Our Pups Home!” You can quell their protest by dropping a donation in their bowls or—better yet—adopting one of our homeless residents. Animal Friends’ volunteers will be answering questions about pet adoption and the importance of tagging your dog, and will be passing out dog license applications. Don’t miss the dogs’ picket on Tag Day!
