Come play!

In addition to donating and volunteering, there are lots of ways to help Animal Friends! Great opportunities include matching gifts, United Way pledges or hosting a third-party event.

Matching Gifts

As you consider your charitable or year-end giving, check with your employer's personnel desk to see whether your corporation matches charitable gifts.

United Way

If you or your company contributes to the United Way, you can direct important support to Animal Friends. Animal Friends’ Pet-Assisted Therapy Program is recognized by the United Way as a Contributor Choice Agency. This program improves the lives of thousands of senior citizens, children, veterans, and hospital patients every year. Through Pet-Assisted Therapy and our other outreach programs, Animal Friends makes our community a better, kinder place to live.

To designate your gift (or a portion of it) to Animal Friends, list one of the following on your United Way pledge form:

United Way of Allegheny County
Animal Friends Pet-Assisted Therapy, code #374

United Way of Washington County
Animal Friends Pet-Assisted Therapy, code #374

Creative ways to raise money!

Host a Third-Party Event for Animal Friends

Have a great idea for hosting a fundraiser? Get started by submitting a proposal here.

Do you belong to an organization that holds or might consider holding an event to raise money for charity? Many organizations find that holding a fun fundraiser is an ideal way to help their members bond more closely together. Their members feel that their organization has a sense of community awareness, and as a result, they feel good about being part of that initiative. If you'd like to hold a third party event for Animal Friends, click here to get started!

Here are some more creative ideas:

  • Donate your old cell phones and printer cartridges.
For each used cartridge or cell phone you bring to Animal Friends, our Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program receives cash back to subsidize spay and neuter surgeries for pets. Consider starting a cartridge drive at your workplace by spreading the word to co-workers and friends! Items may be dropped off at Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

  • One company offered a "Casual Dress" day to any employees who donated to Animal Friends.

  • Organize a pet photo contest in your office, with entry fees to benefit Animal Friends

  • Organize a bake sale

  • And many more!
