Fur-ever at home

Sixty-four years ago, our founders dreamed of a bright future for Animal Friends. Today, thanks to their vision—and their financial commitment to our mission—our organization stands at the forefront of animal welfare in our region. You too can make an important investment in Animal Friends’ future.

Did you know that Animal Friends’ lifesaving work has been made possible largely because of bequests? These gifts came from special people who believed in the work that we do on behalf of animals. Because these individuals included our shelter in their wills, Animal Friends is able to ensure that their values are upheld for future generations.

Planned giving, which includes bequests, charitable trusts, gifts of stock, and gifts of life insurance, is a vital part of our success, and allows donors to leave a lasting legacy. Naming Animal Friends in your will might enable you to make a larger donation than you thought possible. And, there are personal tax advantages to supporting non-profit organizations with planned gifts.

The Lifesavers Society

Animal Friends offers an additional benefit to planned giving in the form of peace of mind. Donors who make planned gifts of $5,000.00 or more per pet are eligible for membership in The Lifesavers Society. Members of this special society may elect to leave their cat or dog in Animal Friends’ care at the time of the donors’ death. Animal Friends will guarantee care for the pets until loving, suitable homes are found, in accordance with our adoption policies. This program ensures that Lifesavers Society members’ pets will continue to receive top-quality attention and care, even if they outlive their guardian—without the threat of unwarranted euthanasia.

Your values are an important part of your life. Your financial support can help them last in perpetuity. Consider naming Animal Friends in your will.
