Announcing our 2016 Be Kind to Animals Week poster contest

Do you love to draw? Love animals? Looking to get artsy this winter or spring? It’s not too soon to start thinking about Animal Friends’ 2016 poster contest!

Our poster contest, held annually in celebration of Be Kind to Animals Week, is for students in grades 1-8. This year’s theme is “Pets are Family Members Too!” Click here for the 2016 entry slip, rules, prizes, and deadline.

The artists of the winning posters (first place and honorable mention) will be invited, along with their family, to attend our invitation-only reception held in May. Guests can see their artwork displayed (which will be featured at Animal Friends through the summer), enjoy refreshments, and participate in special activities.

At the 2013 reception, guests participated in photo shoots with our Humane Education dogs, met our Humane Investigations officer, and met some of our bunnies. Some guests even helped us by appearing in our filming of Animal Friends’ first Humane Education video: “Teach My Person How to Love Me.”
