For those pet owners who seek a meaningful, permanent way to memorialize their pets, we are pleased to present A Thousand Winds: The Memorial Garden at Animal Friends.

Secluded within the forested paths at Animal Friends, this tranquil garden is nestled under a canopy of trees and a cedar pergola. This retreat offers a space for reflection and relief, with memorial benches and a floor of mosaic stone patterns. Twinkling within gentle breezes are the sounds of wind chimes, each dedicated to the memory of a beloved companion animal.

A Thousand Winds: The Memorial Garden at Animal Friends

As a community resource center, Animal Friends is committed to supporting the incredible benefits of the human-animal bond. We support this bond from beginning to end—from adoption and behavior training classes to pet-friendly events and then, when a pet’s life comes to an end, remembrance ceremonies and pet loss support groups.

We know that when a companion animal’s life comes to an end, it can be difficult to find a way to acknowledge the importance of that relationship. You are invited to celebrate your pet’s life by making your pet’s memory a part of A Thousand Winds: The Memorial Garden at Animal Friends.

The Memorial Garden at Animal Friends welcomes pet owners to remember their pets’ lives in a blissful, joyous way. Here, your beloved pet’s memory will become one of a thousand winds, blowing through the forest.

All of the elements within A Thousand Winds: The Memorial Garden at Animal Friends have been carefully and creatively developed—from its location nestled amongst the trees, overlooking the lifesaving work that happens every day, to the tiles of the flooring and flow of the space. It all creates a balance of structure, nature and emotion.

Key influences on the Memorial Garden’s design include:
Angels’s Rest Memorial Garden at Best Friends in Utah
Renowned animal behavior researcher Temple Grandin
The Getty Museum in Los Angeles
The memories of unconditional love of the pets we have all loved and lost.
