RJ
his handsome guy is RJ! He came to Animal Friends as part of a transfer from another organization. Throughout the months RJ has been with us, he has shown us how intelligent and playful he is. While interacting with staff and volunteers, RJ has learned obedience commands, and would love to expand upon training in his new home. He loves having his daily enrichment time, and adopters should continue providing opportunities for him to sniff, solve puzzles, and more! RJ takes some time to warm up to new people, and may prefer to meet a few times before finally going home! He would prefer a family with children 13 years or older, who can respect his boundaries and set him up for success. RJ can be dog selective, and would prefer to go as a single dog; he might enjoy some canine friends, but not a roommate! RJ also can not live with any smaller mammals like cats or rabbits.
RJ is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all of our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds that require them to need a little extra. Extra care. Extra attention. Extra patience. They’ve certainly been extra loved here! If you have room in your heart and your home to give one of our special animals, check with our Adoption team to learn about our Extra Loved program and if there is any additional support we may be able to offer alongside your adoption!
RJ is also one of Animal Friend’s VIPs! Our VIP Adoption Special was recently created as a means to spotlight some of our residents that have spent longer than average times in the shelter due to their more unique needs. With the VIP Adoption Special we hope to provide as much communication and education about each individual VIP resident and their unique needs as possible, as well as additional resources where needed upon their eventual adoption. Thanks to Charlotte, Dave, and rescue dog Cooper Stephenson, the adoption donation has also been fully underwritten for these VIP residents. Interested in learning more?
