Thank you for your interest in adopting a homeless cat! Our adoption floor is open to the public for browsing. If you are interested in adopting a cat, appointments are welcomed and encouraged. Walk-in appointments will be accommodated as often as possible.

Before you get started, take a moment to read our adoption guidelines to learn more about adopting from Animal Friends. Once you’re ready to meet your match, start your application or contact our Adoption team with any questions. Once you have completed your application, an in-person meet and greet will be scheduled with your entire family living in your home.

Our 75-mile adoption radius has now been removed, allowing us to provide support to the pets and people of communities that we were previously unable to serve. Through this, our hope is that some of our animal residents who have had a more difficult time finding their homes locally will be able to reach the hearts of those who are separated by a greater distance. We ask that if you are interested in adopting from Animal Friends and live outside of the state of Pennsylvania, that you submit an application online at ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org/Adopt and schedule an appointment with us before coming to Pittsburgh in order to provide you with the best possible experience.
