An Animal Friends Therapet is an owned animal who has been trained, tested and certified by Animal Friends’ Therapets program to be able to consistently and safely provide comfort and affection to people other than their owners. Please note that while we do our very best to fulfill requests, filling out this form does not guarantee a visit from Animal Friends Therapets. Many Animal Friends Therapets are already visiting multiple locations, so it may take time for us to recruit a volunteer in your area who is a good match for your request.
IMPORTANT: At least one other responsible adult must be present during the entire Therapets visit, such as a family member, caregiver, etc. Therapets visits will last a maximum of 30 minutes. Additionally, Therapets handlers cannot provide care or assistance to the person they are visiting. All personal care must be provided by the additional person attending the visit.
For the safety of all involved, food cannot be present or offered to either member of the Therapets team. The Therapets handler may bring treats to be shared with their animal at the handler’s discretion. Smoking is not permitted during the visit from the Therapets team.
