Friends for Vets

As an active military member or veteran interested in adding a new four-legged member to their family, our Adoption team will work to find just the right companion animal to match the veteran’s lifestyle. The new pet will be current on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped for additional identification. By way of a special thank you and in honor of our founding during World War II, the requested adoption donation will be waived.

At Animal Friends, we also recognize that some returning veterans are dealing with unresolved stress from their deployments. We understand the value of having a loving companion animal to help through these sometimes temporary, sometimes lifetime struggles. Our Adoption team will work with the veteran to find just the right companion to match his or her lifestyle. Based upon discussions with our Adoption team, individual specialized support will be available on a case-by-case basis. This heightened level of support can include, but is not limited to, a customized start-up package of necessary supplies and waived tuition for a behavior training class to help strengthen the bond between the veteran and his or her new companion.

Animal Friends adoptions process and qualifications apply. Current Military ID or DD214 must be shown at time of adoption.
