Without volunteers, Animal Friends simply could not be the progressive, successful organization it is today. Our dedicated volunteers are committed to spending time with our residents, bringing pet therapy to those who need it most, lending a hand at a low-cost clinic, greeting guests at our signature gala and everything in between. Every single hour they give is simply invaluable to our mission.

Pairs Program (Volunteers Aged 13-18 and Volunteers Requiring Additional Support)

Volunteering is for everyone!

Are you looking to get involved, but may need some extra support? Animal Friends is excited to have your help!

Who benefits from the Pairs Program?

Volunteers under 18 and their Parent or Guardian, and Volunteers with a variety of abilities and the Organizations servicing those with specialized needs.

What Would the Partnership Look Like?

All volunteer pairs are a one-to-one ratio with one leader and one learner.

The leaders include Parents/Guardians, Case Managers, Aids, or an 18+ individual assuming responsibility for their learner.

Learners can include anyone who requires some additional help during their volunteer service as well as our youth volunteers (those ages 13-17).

What Would the Pairs Program Look Like?

The leader & learner pairs would be expected to remain together at all times during their volunteer shifts. The leader and learner pair would work together to complete their trainings, volunteer activities, and during all animal handling. It is essential that the pair remains together to ensure that the learner receives the best training possible and to prioritize the safety of all those involved.

Pairs Program Members are able to sign up for any of our amazing volunteer opportunities:

  • Animal Handling (Age 16+)
