At Animal Friends, our lifesaving work touched more than 130,000 animal and human lives in 2021 as we continued toward our vision of a humane and compassionate future for every animal friend. Through your generosity and support this past year, Animal Friends …
- provided affordable and accessible resources including spay/neuter, vaccines, wellness and specialized procedures for 34,001 animals and the people who love them
- distributed 155,606 pounds of free pet food to support 21,596 pet owners who had fallen on hard times
- referred 695 financially struggling families to lifesaving resources and support through Friends for Life
- rescued 1,503 animals through transport and admissions while matching 1,369 pets with adoptive families
- improved 1,199 lives through Humane Society Police Officer intervention
- strengthened the animal-human bond for 3,049 pets and families through positive reinforcement training during Animal Friends University classes
- educated the next generation of animal advocates about the importance of humane and compassionate treatment of animals during 15 summer camps
- served 387 veterans and active military members through specialized adoptions and other supportive resources
- touched 17,704 lives through the healing power of our Therapets pet therapy teams
- contributed 246,530 volunteer hours of service toward our lifesaving mission
- positively impacted 96 percent of the animals who came through our doors through successful placements
- engaged 705,893 visitors to our website and created 9,165,275 impressions on social media while sharing our vision with the community
- raised $5,515,092 to support our mission while directing 86 cents of every dollar toward lifesaving care, programs and resources
