Pittsburgh Police presents Biscuits Bingo

For the past 15 years, animal lovers have been yapping about the good times and great prizes at Biscuits Bingo! Enjoy sit-down bingo with cash prizes, a bake sale, auctions and vendor tables. This event is family-friendly, but no pets are permitted to attend with you. Doors open at 10am on Saturday March 7th, and bingo stars at 12pm. The event is being held at The Circuit Center & Ballroom - 5 Hot Metal Street, Pittsburgh PA 15203 and tickets can be purchased at the door for $25 - CASH ONLY. Proceeds benefit Animal Friends and other local animal welfare organizations! McBark & Brew - SOLD OUT

This event is for anyone 21 years of age or older.

Bring your pooch and come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Animal Friends. Taste a variety of micro-brewed beers and Irish treats. While you socialize, your 4-legged guests will romp around our Outreach Center and play with other furry friends. Registration is required as space is limited.  Special thanks to our friends at Avalon Veterinary Hospital and Seven Fields Veterinary Hospital for sponsoring this year's McBark and Brew.

American Humane Association's Animal Stars

Animal Friends is thrilled to welcome Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane Association, and co-author with Allen and Linda Anderson of the brand new publication Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors for an entertaining and informative program.  Dr. Ganzert will share the heartwarming stories that reveal the trainers, actors, directors and animals in behind-the- scenes glory.  Get the scoop on the animal actors that have diva tendencies and those with rags-to riches backstories!  All the while, American Humane Association certified animal safety representatives work carefully to ensure that no animals are harmed, as they have been doing for decades. 

Joining Dr. Ganzert will be Hudson, the Golden Retriever who co-starred with Paul Rudd in the film Our Idiot Brother and Christina Potter, Hudson’s trainer. 

Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors will be available for sale and autographs the night of the event.

Pet Photos with the Easter Bunny

Word got out that the Easter Bunny is coming to Animal Friends, and our rabbits are throwing their cousin a hopping good breakfast! Join us for a scrumptious breakfast (vegetarian options available) paired with a bun run (rabbit recess) for our shelter rabbits. Adults are $10 and children under 10 are $5.

Run for a Cause with Animal Friends in the Pittsburgh Marathon
Friday, May 1 - Sunday, May 3
If you or a loved one is planning to participate in the 2015 Pittsburgh Marathon, consider joining Team Animal Friends! Donations raised will go towards sponsoring spay and neuter surgeries and providing critical medical care for sick and wounded animals.

To sign up to be a part of Team Animal Friends, you must first register at www.PittsburghMarathon.com. When you register, you will be asked which race you want to run (i.e. full marathon, half marathon, 5k etc). Make your selection and finish your registration. After you are registered, visit our CrowdRise page and make an account to start fundraising! If you’re interested in fundraising but aren’t a runner, we accept virtual runners, too! You can always skip registering for the marathon and just fundraise for us on CrowdRise.

CrowdRise allows you to create your own personal fundraising page and share it with family and friends through email or your Facebook or Twitter page. You can set your own fundraising goal, post photos and share a personal story of why you are running for Animal Friends. Run for a reason and support Animal Friends this year in the annual Pittsburgh Marathon!

Everyone's barking about the fine food and fabulous prizes at Bow Wow Bingo! This upscale bingo, which takes place at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center located moments from I-279, is celebrating its 13th year of fun and fundraising on Saturday, May 2.  Enjoy a buffet dinner by Monteverde Catering, beer, wine and tail-wagging prizes.
