Since 2005, this popular haunted house cares as it scares, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to Animal Friends and the Homeless Children’s Education Fund. Don’t miss your chance to visit this nationally-recognized haunted house and find some comfort knowing that your screams and scares are all worth it as they benefit the homeless animals at Animal Friends.

Join Animal Friends for our annual Howl-O-Ween costume party! Happy dogs, cats and rabbits of all shapes and sizes will be gathering in their Halloween attire to celebrate this festive holiday. The Howl-O-Ween party will feature pet photos, a pet costume contest, refreshments and games for the whole family. Costumes for both pets and their people are strongly encouraged. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. Help out our dogs in need by bringing a donation of wet, canned dog food to the event! (Our pups like Alpo and Purina brands!)

All pets in attendance should be both people and animal-friendly and up-to-date on vaccinations. Dogs must be secured on a leash (no retractable leashes, please!); cats and bunnies should be in proper carriers. To register, click here!

Join us for a special Halloween-themed wine tasting and bring your pup along for a “Bark ‘n Boo” doggie social! Paws for a Cause at Baldwin Borough Public Library

We're visiting our friends at Baldwin Borough Public Library for their fall program lineup! Each month, children have the opportunity to meet at least one approved literacy animal, hear stories, read aloud to the visiting animal, and participate in a literacy activity. Pine Richland Middle School presents: Paws in the Park to benefit Animal Friends
Saturday, October 24 | 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Pine Community Park

Families and their dogs are invited to attend the 18th annual Paws in the Park Dog Walk at Pine Community Park. The cost is $5 and includes a mile trail walk along a scenic lake, a canine costume contest, games such as musical chairs for dogs, and find-the-dog-biscuit in the hay. Pine-Richland Middle school students will be on hand to face paint pet motifs for younger children. Participants can purchase cookies or beverages to benefit the animals. Walkers who collect $75 or more worth of pledges in advance will get to name an Animal Friends resident. The top three fundraisers will each receive a dog-themed gift basket. Families and individuals are encouraged to come out with their dog to enjoy a leisurely walk in the park at one's own pace and have fun with their dog as they participate in events especially designed for a dog's pleasure.

Guidelines: Children under sixth grade must be accompanied by an adult. All dogs must be leashed on regular four- to six-foot leashes; retractable leashes (even if locked) are not permitted at this event. Dogs should be wearing their identification tag, license, and rabies tag. No aggressive dogs, please.

Animal Friends' Halloween Party for Pets

Is trick-or-treat night too much for your shy or easily overwhelmed pup? Bring them to Animal Friends for a howling good time away from the hustle and bustle of ringing door bells and strangers in costumes. An illuminated trick or treat trail, canine games and other activities will be offered in our Outreach Center. Costumes for pets are optional, but not required to attend. Grab your dog and a yoga mat and head to Animal Friends for an afternoon of Doga – yoga with your dog! Enjoy the company of fellow yogis and their four-legged apprentices as you perfect your Downward Dog pose! Please bring your own mat, as well as water and some tasty canine treats for your pup. All dogs in attendance should be both people and animal-friendly and up-to-date on vaccinations. Dogs must be on a NON-RETRACTABLE leash and will stay on-leash for the entirety of the class. One dog per human attendee.

Wind down from the week with a relaxing "hoppy hour" of Bunny Yoga!  Practice your sasangasana, or Rabbit Pose, with the professionals - our very own shelter rabbits!  Class begins promptly at 6 p.m. Limited yoga mats are available. ‘Tis the season for Santa to decide if your pet has been naughty or nice! Bring your pet to Animal Friends Pet Photos with Santa. For only $10, receive three 4”x 6” prints that’ll help decorate your home for the holidays. Ho! Ho! Hopefully you will remember you must arrive with a leash on your pup and with your cats and rabbits in their carriers. No advanced registration required, just stop in!

Holidays with Heart Vendor and Craft Extravaganza

If you’re in the mood for good bagels and sandwiches next Saturday, join Animal Friends at Bruegger’s Bagels in Sewickley and McKnight Rd locations. Print out this flyer or show it to the Bruegger’s employees on your smart phone on the last Saturday of every month and 15% of your purchase that day will go towards helping Animal Friends save homeless animals in our community.
